We stayed here this past weekend for my birthday celebration with my boyfriend!! First and foremost Anissa was so very helpful and accommodating, as soon as we arrived to check in she greeted us with a smile and was very welcoming, she also wished me a happy birthday, a birthday card and $30 for drinks or food at the hotel! Our room was amazing! Everything was clean and any issue we had it was resolved quickly without any hesitation! Hyatt definitely aims to please and is all about impeccable customer service!!! Every single person that assisted us or helped with any questions were awesome! I definitely recommend this Hotel to anyone visiting or just doing a staycation like we did. Great customer service, Great atmosphere!!!
I loved the fact that you can access the downtown tunnels right from inside the hotel! Great perk! The pool was a great place to relax and catch some sun on Houston's searing hot summer days. My only real complaint was that I had to walk in the heat to catch the rail line, but a pizza bagel from Mr. Einstein's bagels was a wonderful smack for the walk.
Conveniently located hotel in Houston. Clean rooms but the Air conditioning motor, In some rooms is too noisy. About 75 decibels, equivalent to a phone ring tone. Having said all this the staff and quality of breakfast at the Shula's Steak house is caring and professional. I am Vegan but this did not stop the chef, 'Ms Autumn' in creating a tasty meal. I would like to thank the waitress Ms Alvina for her unselfish service.
Place is huge. Staff very friendly and good. The rooms were kept very clean.
There's also a pool open 6am till 10pm and a gym open 24/7.
Rooms come with TV ,ironing board, kettle and some coffee. There's also room service if you require.
Some things I didn't like; the shower head is too low, it's fine if your under 5.10 ft otherwise you'll be squatting. There's complementary tea and coffee but there's no milk and the there's only one tea bag (for an Englishman this is upsetting). There's no breakfast option so you'll have to try one of the restaurants in the lobby area.
Other than those small issues I had a great stay and would recommend it.
Downtown Houston. Great location. Easy access to public transportation and other restaurants. Rooms are bigger than usual ones andhas a 55' TV. A coffee maker includes in all rooms. Services is not exceptional. However the staff is friendly.
My wife and I stayed overnight for a last-minute getaway for my birthday. Upon noticing it was my birthday at check-in wished me a happy birthday. When we got back from dinner there was a hand-written card from Alexandria as well as some champagne. It was incredibly thoughtful and kind, and absolutely made our night. Thank you, Alexandria.
This place has something amazing around every corner. From the incredulous balcony surrounding the lobby, you can see the aesthetics floating from the bar, to the restaurants, to the modernly classy looking front desk. I had to take extra trips up and down the elevators to watch the world pass by through the open glass wall. Beautiful hotel.
Beautiful 30 floor hotel in the heart of Houston a few blocks away from all amenities. Glass elevators going up the inside and outside of the buildings. Not for the faint hearted! The pool on the 6th floor was well maintained, warm with adequate loungers and nice towels. Pool bar on site. Einstein Brothers Bagel shop open 24hrs with great choices and quite reasonable prices. Cute little gift shop with reasonably priced items.
I stayed at the Hyatt Regency as part of a conference group at the convention center. The double room was ok. Beds are only full size. Nice large 55" TV was nice. Room had a decent layout. On-site restaurants were quick, food was good & priced well.
Just finished my 2 night stay and I have to say I really enjoyed my stay. Valet service was excellent and check in was so easy. Staff very friendly and the whole atmosphere felt great. Location was great and very easy to access 45 North. Rooms were a good size and the beds felt great. I can see myself coming back in the future
Location was within a 15 minute walking distance to the theater district. It is also connected to the underground network, which is a nice way to navigate the city when it's raining. Was a little disappointed that the rooftop restaurant was not open when we were there. The hours are quite condensed. The room was fairly basic. It did have a nice TV and came with a fridge. The AC unit was a little loud, but it kept the room at the desired temperature. Overall, I would stay again. Staff were nice and polite.
I am beyond disappointed. I came 7 months pregnant with a toddler for my husbands work trip. The staff is utterly unhelpful. I have to call multiple times or chase them down in the hall to find out they don’t speak English. I’ve had to wait hours to have my room cleaned or trash taken out. It’s supposed to be a smoke free facility and smoke is entering into my room as me and my toddler have to breathe it in. The bathroom ceiling is leaking over the bathtub in multiple (at least 3) places. This hotel has no continental breakfast and is about as far away from family friendly as one can get. The floors were soaked yesterday as my son and I entered and a lady had to warn us because there is no sign. There are currently also doing construction on everything. Do you and your family a huge favor and stay somewhere else.
The Hyatt is a beautiful property that's been well updated and still feels new. The incredible atrium with glass elevators is always a nice experience. I've never stayed here, but have visited a few times for business functions. The catering was tasty and service was excellent.
Clean, interesting and convenient. Drawbacks are high cost of lodging, food and drinks. Hotel staff were fantastic but bar staff left much to be desired. Very slow response time and missed parts of our order. Tunnel access to multiple other buildings adds to the convenience. Despite the high levels of ambient noise in the core of the building the rooms were plenty quite. Recommended if a stay downtown is required.
Beautiful hotel which was surprisingly quiet. The restaurant offered a good breakfast selection and the staff were very good about being conscientious to specific dietary needs. Einstein Brothers Bagels is built in and open 24 hours per day to help meet your needs no matter your hectic schedule. Staff were always friendly and professional.
I was rather disappointed in this Hyatt hotel. The room was rather drab and the mattress was very old and lumpy! Definitely not something I was expecting from a Hyatt Regency!
On the plus side the staff was kind and professional, the breakfast buffet at Shula's was a good value and the downtown location was central to many of the sights Houston has to offer.
Location downtown is great. It's got a dedicated entrance to the Houston Tunnels so you could easily walk to a good selection of restaurants, services, and the major office buildings.
The room was okay, and had a complete set of amenities. If housekeeping missed anything, they are quick call away and promptly deliver your request to your room.
Note that if you have items shipped to the hotel, a handling fee will apply (~$10) per package - price varies with weight of package.
Room service includes a significant service charge, so might be more economical to just dine in at the restaurant or 24H coffee shop in the lobby. Breakfast at their restaurant is good, I particularly liked their buttery pancakes.
Great location in business area with direct access to the Houston tunnels... don’t know what that is? Check it out before you go and don’t worry about getting lost on it! There’s always a way out! ;) really kind staff, good restaurant and nice beers selection at the lobby bar. Breakfast is good but better are the beagles at the southern beagle local shop at the lobby left side! Just be aware, if you’re smoker and wanna get out the hotel for a cigarette at night, don’t get too far from the entrance.... Houston unfortunately has lots lots of homeless around and they might be a bit threatening when you get out the hotel perimeter at night. Nothing to scare, just to be mindful about. Love that place. Architecture of the building itself is got me in love since I saw it the first time. Love waking up, opening curtains and feeling in a skyscraper in between other buildings as tall!
Not in the heart of nightlife, but perfect for downtown office. The on-site restaurants are perfect. The bed was one of the best I've had (I don't like them too soft). Got some great recommendations for food in the area.
Clean 5 star establishment. Great courteous staff. Spotless restrooms. Comfortable waitng lobby. There's food and drink areas. Exceptional venue...
Didn't actually stay there as I was helping set up for the Thanksgiving day parade floats. Stepped in to their coffee shop. Employees were attentive to my needs and were a great help. By the way, delicious coffee!!!!
The lobby is just what you would like expect in a Hyatt Regency. Huge open space, dramatic elevators visible through the center. Decor includes Remington style sculptures. While we were not staying here, the staff and personnel have been quite gracious as we wait for the Vonlane bus.
Really nice hotel, great location! We had a room closet to the street, so we did hear a few sirens while sleeping. I would stay again.
Love this hotel, have stayed here thrice and will stay again! We had a fantastic dinner in one of their large dining rooms at a big event we attended. The food was good, the servers were on point and the presentation stage and event went off without a hitch. The staff will go above and beyond to make guests comfortable and to represent the Hyatt brand well. Decent food available on the premises and also such a great venue for any conventions or major functions. Will return, thanks Hyatt!
The Hyatt Regency Houston is full of graceful southern hospitality. It is a large hotel that offers the best of location in downtown Houston and fabulous amenities. What is more is that I left my favorite dress in the room and discovered it missing only after returning home the next day. Ginna answered my call, fully investigated, and kept me well-informed through the process. I got my dress back, and I will forever be grateful to Ginna and the entire Hyatt Houston staff. This place is full of great people.
Clean hotel with attentive staff. Great location within walking distance to many local attractions and great restaurants. The lobby stays pretty busy but the rooms are quiet. Great views of downtown Houston! There is an Einstein Bagel and a bar located in the lobby as well. We stay here annually for my husband's company event and we've never left disappointed.
Really enjoyed the Hyatt Regency! Location is very convenient to most places downtown. The cleaning staff is top notch...super friendly and helpful! Kudos to the cleaning staff...some of the best in the business! This is a great business hotel!
The Hyatt Regency was a beautiful hotel. The rooms were very clean and we'll stocked with coffee and tea. I loved the bathroom. It was large and had a separate place for us woman to do are hair and makeup while our men could .... Shower, and shave! The views we're beautiful. The only thing 8 wished they had we're balconies to sit outside and enjoy the views and sounds of downtown Houston. I recommend it highly.
Swanky! Felt a bit under dressed as we stayed here after finishing up a cruise, having only a bunch of t-shirts and shorts to wear. Great views of downtown and the rooftop pool was nice. Great lobby/bar for socializing and quick access to the downtown tunnels. Einstein Bros Bagel shop off of the lobby too! Parking fees are less desirable, but its downtown and there is no such thing as convenient parking there.
The best steak ever! I order my steaks well done and almost always they are dry. Not this one! It was juicy and well done and tender. Seasoned perfectly and hot. The mashed potatoes were buttery and creamy with a wonderful texture. Loved this place! Will be coming again. Only complaint was the paper straws. Maybe that was just me. Highly recommend Shulas steakhouse here at the Hyatt.
Hotel was absolutely amazing , staff was awesome and very helpful with booking a room last minute. rooms were so clean and spacious. defiantly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the are!
The overall stay was good. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The room was nice but felt a little run down like the rest of the hotel.
Amazing hotel. Glass elevators give amazing views of downtown Houston and the lobby. Rooms are very clean and have their own amazing views. Staff was great and friendly. Gym and pool area were top-notch. Enjoyed my stay here very much. Location is also great, in walking distance of the convention center. Definitely recommend this hotel for anyone looking for an upscale experience.
Absolutely wonderful experience. The staff was great;friendly, helpful and very professional. I sat by the pool and it was clean and the atmosphere was so relaxing.
Nice hotel and fairly priced. Lobby bar is great place to meet over drinks.
Fitness center is great as well. Many treadmills, ellipticals, free weights and more. Never had to wait for a machine.
I'll stay here again for sure.
Great hotel close to downtown amenities and work location. Rooms were clean and well appointed. Restaurant, bar, and coffee shop were all really convenient. Tunnels to office buildings worked perfectly during a morning thunderstorm. Would stay here again for sure.
This is so amazing hotel in the area. Great ambiance, clean hotel room with comfy bed. Food was good. Hotel staff was so nice and very kind. Guided me everything. Thanks for the great service. It was all worth it.
I checked in with Taylor. She and another lady were extremely nice. I only stayed one night because I was there for a specific event. Upon entering the room, I didn't have much time so I immediately hopped in the shower. To my surprise the tub had hair in it and it was also clogged. My hair is short so it could not have been mine. Again, I was late so I let it go. As I was leaving to go to the event, I informed the front desk staff of the issue but I told them that it was pointless for me to change rooms because I knew that I would be leaving the next day. Thankfully, they did send maintenance to fix the clog. Went to the event, came back, sat in the chair in the room and to my surprise there was a dirty men’s sock. At that point, I was annoyed but it was 3 AM. The next morning I called to speak with housekeeping regarding the room. I spoke with the manager on duty, Ms. Summers. As soon as I got on the phone with Ms. Summers, I informed her that I was leaving that day and that I did not want anything for free but I did want to let her know that the room is dirty and I have pictures. Ms. Summers went on to tell me about their protocol and how they have meetings every morning, how they are supposed to use some form of tape that insures that there isn't any hair anywhere in the room, etc. Then, she proceeds to tell me, and I quote, "Unfortunately, you booked through a 3rd party so I can't give you a free room." #1 Her statement is a complete lie, this is not my first rodeo. #2 I clearly stated in the beginning of the phone call that I don't want anything for free because I am leaving. So, after I informed her that she has poor communication skills because she had not heard a word I said and I how I don't need anything for free because I can buy whatever I want when I want. She then proceeded to yell at me that I was threatening her. Where in that statement is there a threat? Is she assuming that I am going to attempt to buy her? Is she selling something in the hotel that we don't know about? I was baffled and told her that I now understand why the room is dirty. If management doesn't care, why would the employees care? I was nice to everyone. I was even nice to her until she decided to make an assumption that I was only complaining in order to get something for free. If I wanted something for free, I would not have gone to housekeeping, I would have spoken to the business manager. Someone that actually has power. I was merely informing housekeeping so that they could reprimand their own department without getting their superiors involved but that is not how Ms. Summers operates. She chose to not only waste my time with her assumption but ruin my experience with her nasty attitude. I do like the Hyatt but I do not understand why the housekeepers are allowed to sit on the clock and do absolutely nothing nor do I understand why management thinks it is okay and why they would assume that simply because someone is giving constructive criticism that it MUST mean they want something for free. Completely unacceptable.
Also, I was informed by Henry at the front desk that this particular location doesn't have a General Manager so I am inclined to believe that due to there not being proper management, the employees feel as if they can do whatever they want. I can tolerate a dirty room but someone assuming that I want something for free even after I informed them that I am only informing them of the lack of cleanliness is ridiculous. She lacks proper communication skills. She listened to respond instead of actually hearing what I was saying. I am confused on how she is even in management. Maybe I just caught her at a bad time.
I will try my best to judge your location based on the Hyatt brand and not the actions of your staff.
